Feng
Shui Room
Because Feng Shui is all
about harmony, and the free flow of your chi, or life energy, it
follows quite easily, that any given room must be designed,
furnished, or kept in a state that allows the same freedom not only
to energies, but to light, sound, emotion and even physical
movement.
Let's take as an example,
the bedroom. We tend to clutter it with things that have nothing
whatsoever to the purpose of the room, which is to sleep. Actually,
it should be the room in which you spend more time than any other
single room in the house, so Feng Shui here, should be of prime
importance in every home.
First, create an atmosphere of calm and serenity, though the use of
pastel Feng Shui colors, including creams, blues, whites, pale rose,
and other light tones that are conducive to relaxation and peace.
This applies to your wall paints, floor covering, drapes, and choice
of bedding.
Wood as an essential element, is considered best for beds, and need
only be the basic structure to hold a mattress and box spring. Four
posters and canopies do nothing to enhance your chi, and the canopy
may in fact interrupt the release of tensions from your body as you
fall asleep. The same applies to any ceiling attachments such as
fans, chandeliers, or other accessories.
At some point in time, we made bedrooms an extension of the
electronic environment. Remove those influences by taking out
stereos, televisions, and computer workstations. They will draw
from you the energy required to use or listen to them, which is more
properly directed to re-energizing your body with restful sleep.
